The Jazz Room at Montalvo (this same venue) a number of years ago I saw and there was a good balance of music and audience interaction. This time there was a bit "too much talk and not enough action" as Elvis would say, While I love the interactive way that The Jazz Room plays with the audience. At one point during the show, The Jazz Room announced that he recently turned 73 yrs of age...I guess he has decided to take it easy now and rest on his laurels. ;o( When The Jazz Room decided the show was over, he politely sauntered off the stage, leaving his bandmates to musically end the show...no encore...that was that. There was not enough music!!! I would have enjoyed the concert much more if The Jazz Room would have "played more of the blues". That time I did not leave starved for more blues...I was left fat and happy; this time I was LEFT QUITE HUNGRY. ;o(
